APA / DSM-V TASK FORCE entitled "Characteristics of Somatic Symptom Disorder." This new classification in the DSM-V replaces the diagnostic categories in the DSM-IV for emotional illnesses that involve the interface of psyche (mind / personality / intellect / feeling / temperament) and the soma (body). The new classification significantly reduces the number of diagnoses possible [for insurance purposes] in this area of disorders. |
