description of 16 temperament types

I have divided the 16 different temperament Myers-Briggs (Myers Briggs) 4 letter types into four groupings based upon their similarity in appearance to one observing them from the outside. I believe this is the most useful schema in determining a person's type by observation alone. I am aware of typing classifications used by Keirsey, Myers-Briggs, Jung and others, but believe this to be both easier to understand and more practical.

Each type section begins with its four letter name (the two underlined letter represent the type's grouping (TJ, FJ, SP, or NP). This is followed by the 4 letter type. Clicking on the type will take you to the type description, adapted from "Please Understand Me." The descriptions begin with the main characteristics of that particular type followed by information on the type relating to career, home, mid-life, and mates.
